By Plane
We can provide transfers from Toulouse, Pau and Lourdes/Tarbes, all approximately a 1.5 hour transfer. We can recommend other transfer companies for transfers to and from Carcassone (2.5 hour) and Perpignan airports.
We recommend skyscanner to assist in booking your flights.
By Train
For those of you looking to cut down those emmissions when travelling. The train can be a relaxing way to come to the South of France.
Connect to London St Pancras in the UK and take the Eurostar under the Channel. Once in Paris head to Austerlitz or Montparnasse stations and take the high speed trains to Toulouse or Bordeaux.
Continue from either to the small town of Montrejeau which is at the head of the Luchon Valley. From their we can either pick you up in our minibus (it’s around 40 minutes drive) or pick up the rail replacement bus that comes into Luchon seven times a day.
Seat Sixty-One, Trainline and OUI.sncf (use the French version if you can it is often cheaper) are all great sources for train travel in Europe.
We’re hopeful the overnight sleeper from Paris to Luchon will be resurrected soon.
By car
From Calais, Bagnères de Luchon is right in the south west of France and about as far as you can drive and stay in France. It’s around 9.5 hours of driving if you use the French toll roads (a little bit pricey but very rarely any traffic at all). It is possible to divide the journey up a little by using a mixture of toll and non-toll roads, or why not extend your holiday and have an overnight stop in one of France's many beautiful towns?
We happy to give you some advice on where to stop. Sometimes you can use supermarket loyalty schemes to save money on your ferry or Eurotunnel trip too.
By ferry
To cut down on the mileage driving, it’s possible to cross the channel by Ferry to one of the many ports in France or northern Spain.
There are many options on the North Coast of France, from Dunkirk and Calais in the North East to Roscoff on the Brittany Coast. Our favoured option in the past has been to cross from Newhaven (near Brighton) to Dieppe. This is around 5 hours aboard which we feel is a nice time to take a snooze.
If you’re happy with a longer adventure on the Ferry then don’t discount Santander in Spain. It’s around 4 to 5 hours driving to Luchon from Santander
Aferry is a great resource for comparing different routes.
